Habitat for Humanity Kansas believes advocacy is critical to achieving our vision of a world where everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.

Thank you, Advocates, for using your voices!

Habitat Kansas Dome Day and Habitat on the Hill are two cornerstone advocacy events that bring affiliates together to elevate the voice of affordable housing at the state and federal levels. During Dome Day at the Kansas State Capitol, affiliates from across the state join Habitat Kansas staff, board members, homeowners, volunteers, and supporters to meet directly with Kansas legislators, share local housing stories, and advocate for policies that expand access to affordable homeownership. Similarly, Habitat on the Hill in Washington, D.C. unites Habitat advocates from Kansas and across the country to engage with members of Congress, discuss national housing priorities, and highlight the real impact of federal housing policy on local communities. In both settings, affiliate participation is central—bringing firsthand experiences, community perspectives, and powerful personal stories into conversations with decision-makers to ensure that housing solutions reflect the needs of Kansans and families nationwide.

Stable housing — housing that is safe, healthy and affordable — is foundational to individuals and families, to the communities in which we live , and to the economies in which we all participate.
